GO-GEL™ Application and Removal
The application process involves:

Careful nail preparation is crucial for proper adhesion. Please follow the step-by-step application guide on our website.
The Warm Water and Oil Soak (Gentle and Reusable)
This method is great if you want to try and reuse your Posh Me Nails and is generally very gentle on your natural nails.
Gather your supplies:
* A bowl of comfortably warm water (not too hot!)
* A few drops of dish soap
* A teaspoon of cuticle oil, olive oil, or baby oil
* An orangewood stick or a cuticle pusher
* A towel
- Soak your nails: Submerge your fingertips completely in the warm, soapy, and oily water for at least 10-15 minutes. This helps to loosen the adhesive.
- Gently lift: After soaking, gently try to wiggle the press-on nails from side to side. Use the orangewood stick or cuticle pusher to carefully slide underneath the edges of the press-on nail, starting from the cuticle area. Do not force or pull them off, as this can damage your natural nail.
- Resoak if needed: If the nails aren't lifting easily, soak them for another 5-10 minutes and try again. Patience is key here!
- Remove residue: Once the press-ons are removed, gently buff away any remaining adhesive from your natural nails with a nail buffer.
- Moisturize: Finish by applying cuticle oil to your natural nails and the skin around them to rehydrate.
Acetone Soak (Quicker, Not for Reusing)
This method is faster but will dissolve the press-on nails, so you won't be able to reuse them. Make sure you're in a well-ventilated area when using acetone.
Gather your supplies:
- 100% acetone nail polish remover.
- A small glass bowl (avoid plastic, as acetone can melt it) or cotton balls and aluminum foil
- Cuticle oil
- An orangewood stick or cuticle pusher
- A nail file (optional)
- Protect your skin: Apply cuticle oil generously to the skin around your nails to help protect it from the drying effects of acetone.
- Soak your nails (Bowl Method): Pour enough acetone into the glass bowl to cover your nails. Soak your fingertips for 10-15 minutes, checking periodically. The press-on nails should start to soften and dissolve.
- Soak your nails (Cotton and Foil Method): If you have long press-ons, you can trim them down first. You can also gently file the surface to break the seal.
- Saturate a cotton ball with acetone and place it directly on top of your press-on nail.
- Wrap the tip of your finger (cotton ball and nail) tightly with a piece of aluminum foil.
- Repeat for all nails and let them sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Gently remove: Once the press-ons have softened, gently push them off using the orangewood stick or cuticle pusher.
- Remove residue and moisturize: Buff away any remaining glue and apply cuticle oil to your natural nails.
Important Tips for Safe Removal: - Be patient: Never force or pull the press-on nails off, as this is the most common cause of damage to your natural nails.
- Don't over-soak: While soaking is necessary, prolonged soaking in water can make your natural nails weak and brittle. Limit soak times.
- Listen to your nails: If you feel any pain or excessive resistance, stop and soak for longer.
- Moisturize afterwards: Removing artificial nails can be drying, so always follow up with cuticle oil and hand cream.
By using one of these methods and being gentle, you can remove your Posh Me Nails without causing damage to your natural manicure!
GO-GEL™ General Questions
GO-GEL™ Tips are generally safe for most individuals. However, those with severely damaged or very thin nails should take extra care.
- Those wanting length and shape quickly: Gel tips provide an instant transformation.
- People who like a lightweight feel: They tend to be thinner and more flexible than acrylics.
- Individuals seeking a natural look: Gel can mimic the appearance of natural nails well.
- Those who prefer less odor during application: Unlike acrylics, gel has minimal to no strong smell.
- DIY enthusiasts (with the right tools): Gel tip kits are available for at-home application.
- Those looking for a relatively easy removal process: When done correctly, soaking off gel tips is less damaging than removing acrylics.
Potential Limitations and Considerations: - Short or Damaged Natural Nails: Gel tips need some existing nail length to adhere to properly. Severely damaged or very short nails might not provide enough surface area for secure application.
- Nail Shape: While many gel tip shapes are available, those with very curved ("claw-like") or very flat nail beds might find it challenging to get a perfect fit, potentially leading to lifting. Some brands offer sculpted tips for curved nails.
- Allergies: Although less common than with some acrylic components, allergies to certain gel products can occur.
- Cost: Salon application of gel tips can be more expensive than some other options.
- Durability: While generally long-lasting (2-3 weeks), gel tips might not be as strong as acrylics for individuals who are very hard on their hands.
- Proper Application and Removal are Key, Incorrect application can lead to lifting and potential damage. Improper removal, especially forceful pulling, can severely harm the natural nails.
To extend the longevity of your GO-GEL™ Tips, follow these care tips:
- Avoid using your nails as tools
- Wear gloves for household chores
- Apply cuticle oil daily
- Avoid picking or peeling

General Information
With over 20 years in the nail tech industry, we know how difficult it can be to schedule an appointment at a nail salon to fit into your busy daily life with things such as school, work and child care. There are also strong chemicals, such as acrylic and acetone, that you are exposed to while you’re at a nail salon.
I personally have been wearing Posh Me press-on nails for the last 3 years and I can’t believe the amount of time I’ve saved by applying Posh Me press-on nails at home in just minutes compared to taking hours to apply my nails at the salon. I also find that Posh Me press-on nails are more durable and much longer lasting compared to acrylic nail and gel nails. Although the Posh Me press-on nails are created from gel, it is a different type of flexible gel compared to salon hard gel. Hard gel has a tendancy to snap or crack which leads to breakage if you don’t go back to the salon quickly to repair the problem nail. You’re not only saving much time you’re receiving the highest quality press-on nails at a fraction of the cost you would be spending at the salon.
Posh Me press-on nails can stay on for 1-3 days with double-sided adhesive or up to 1-2 weeks when applied with nail glue. After the maximum of 2 weeks, your press-on nails should be removed as the nail glue will begin to loosen which can allow for moisture to be trapped in between your press-on nail and nail bed. Once your Posh Me press-on nails are removed you may clean and prepare your nails for reapplication. In case of missing or damaged press-on tips we offer replacements for ordering. Yes, Posh Me press-on nails can be applied and removed multiple times over with proper care.
Using the double sided nail sticker will cause less damage to the nail bed. For those that prefer nail glue, we suggest purchasing an inexpensive electric nail file to gently buff away any built up glue on the back of the nails and give you many more wears. Electric nails file will be available for purchase in the near future.
Improper preparation and application may cause damage to your nail beds. For example, not having the correct amount of glue evenly spread across your entire nail bed may cause moisture to be trapped in between the press-on nails and nail bed which can cause bacterial growth, mold or other particles to become trapped. When removing and re-applying your press-on nails please be sure that everything is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with isopropyl alcohol.
Most common causes:
- Improper preparation and application.
Please watch our application instructional videos Click HERE.
- Not enough glue evenly spread across your entire nail bed and pressure held for 30-45seconds
- Extra sweaty hands during application
- Oily nail beds not cleaned thoroughly
- The press-on tips are too small for your nails. Go one size up
Cutting or filing the press-on nails may cause the gel polish to crack or peel. If you do need to trim or file your press-on nail use alcohol to clean the surface of the press-on tips and then apply a layer of gel top coat to seal the press-on nail tip. If you do not have gel top coat you can apply a 2 clear polish top coat ensuring to seal the ends and corners. Please note that even with an extra layer of top coat, cutting or filing the press-on nails may result in damaging the press-on nail tip.
